Eric Daniel Metzgar is the owner of Merigold Moving Pictures, a New York City-based film production company. Metzgar has directed The Chances of the World Changing (2006), Life. Support. Music. (2008) and Reporter (2009). He has been nominated for an Emmy and an Independent Spirit Award.

Metzgar grew up in Richmond, Virginia. In 1998, he graduated from the University of Georgia, where he studied journalism and wildlife management.

Merigold Moving Pictures was named in honor of Eric's grandmother, Louise Merigold Metzgar, who passed away peacefully in April 2011, at the age of 106. The scripted logo was handwritten by Louise in 2006.
